Founded in 1952 by William E. Kennedy, Jr., Steel Tank and Fabricating Corporation (STAFCO) was established to better serve customers requiring dependable, high-quality tank manufacturing. Originally focused on supporting the petroleum industry, STAFCO quickly built a reputation for precision fabrication, durability, and service excellence.
Today, STAFCO manufactures tanks up to 42,000 gallons unpainted and 32,000 gallons painted in both vertical and horizontal configurations. Our capabilities now support a wide range of industries including petroleum, chemical, agricultural, construction, asphalt, bio-fuel, and general industrial applications. This expansion reflects decades of innovation, engineering expertise, and commitment to meeting evolving customer needs.
In 2018, STAFCO was inducted into the Indiana Manufacturers Hall of Fame — a proud milestone recognizing our long-standing contribution to American manufacturing and industry leadership.
Continuing the Kennedy family legacy, Bill Kennedy became President of Kennedy Tank, Southern Tank, and STAFCO in 2020, representing the fifth generation of leadership guiding the company forward with the same dedication to craftsmanship and customer relationships that defined its founding.
For over seven decades, STAFCO has remained focused on what matters most: teamwork, quality manufacturing, clear communication, and customer satisfaction. We combine deep industry experience with modern fabrication capabilities to deliver reliable tank solutions our customers can trust.
When you partner with STAFCO, you gain more than a manufacturer — you gain a team committed to building lasting solutions and long-term relationships.
